The principal of Coral Springs High School is retiring after 30 years of dedicated service in education, according to Broward County Public Schools.
Principal Vivian Suarez’s last day of work for the district will be Dec. 30, 2023. According to the district, Suarez spent most of her education career at BCPS.
“It has been my honor to have been the principal of Coral Springs High School and to serve the students, parents, faculty, and staff,” Suarez said in a written statement provided by the district. “I want to thank the entire Coral Springs High School Community for their support and for the city for its commitment to ensuring academic excellence for all of our students.”
In a letter to parents and community members, BCPS North Regional Superintendent Jermaine Fleming said Assistant Principal Darius Saunders “will continue to provide leadership until a new principal is selected.”
A community meeting was scheduled to be held at Coral Springs High School on Dec. 11 so that the district could “solicit input regarding the characteristics you feel are most important in your next leader.”
“The information obtained from the Community Conversation will be utilized in the process to screen and select applicants to help ensure the best quality leader is chosen with the characteristics that best fit the needs of your school,” Fleming wrote.
Community members with questions about the process can contact the district at 754-321-3600.
