The City of Coral Springs will hold a special Memorial Day Ceremony to honor all Americans who made the supreme sacrifice with their unselfish devotion in order to defend our heritage of liberty and justice for all.
Join city officials, and the Veterans Coalition of Coral Springs on Monday, May 27, at 9 a.m. as they honor of the brave men and women of our military who have given their lives in service to our nation.
Keynote speaker is Commander Tom Melville, Retired USN. After graduation from college in 1966, Tom completed college and was accepted into Naval Aviation Officer Candidate School. He was later commissioned to an Ensign in the U.S. Naval Reserve. During his 27-year military career, Tom served in active duty in the Naval Reserve Intelligence units in New York, Washington, D.C., and Florida. He was awarded a Letter of Commendation from the Naval Reserve Intelligence Command and nine Campaign Medals and Ribbons. He and his wife, Joanne, live in the City of Coral Springs. They have three adult children and six grandchildren.
