The Coral Springs-Parkland Rotary Club has renamed its annual high school scholarship program to honor one of its founding members and longtime community leader.
The program will now be known as the Robert Allen White High School Scholarship Award, recognizing the late Robert Allen White, an original founder of the Coral Springs-Parkland Rotary Club. The change was made to commemorate his legacy of service and dedication to youth and education.
White was a Rotarian for nearly 50 years and remained deeply involved in a wide range of service initiatives. His greatest passion was Rotary Youth Exchange, where he served at the club, district, and international levels. Alongside his family, White hosted 11 high school exchange students from around the world and mentored college students pursuing prestigious Ambassadorial Scholarships.
The scholarship was renamed in his honor to reflect his lifelong commitment to education, youth development, and international understanding.
Each year, the Rotary Club awards scholarships to graduating seniors from several local high schools, including Coral Springs High School, Coral Springs Charter School, Coral Glades High School, Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School and J.P. Taravella High School.
Each recipient will receive $1,000 to support their continued education.
Applications for the 2026 scholarships are due by April 15. Students interested in applying can visit the Rotary Club’s website at www.csprotary.org for more information.
