The Coral Springs Quilters Guild, a collective of 67 local quilting enthusiasts, donated $500 and a collection of 50 uniquely crafted quilts to the Boys Town of South Florida.
This philanthropic effort was made possible by the proceeds of the Guild’s biennial fundraising event.
Boys Town of South Florida, a nonprofit championing transformative care for at-risk children and families since 1991, will use the funds for its specialized programs that offer prevention and intervention care for children from birth up to 21 years of age.
Simultaneously, the Coral Springs Quilters Guild showered Boys Town with the gift of warmth with 50 unique handcrafted quilts woven with love and compassion, which will now serve as tokens of support for the families under Boys Town’s protective umbrella.
The Guild, established in Coral Springs, meets every first Saturday of the month at The Episcopal Church of St. Mary Magdelene & St Martin’s parish hall. Here, the members share their passion for quilting and community service, continually looking for ways to impact lives positively. So far this year, they have donated 123 quilts.
