Coral Springs children received some holiday cheer.
For over twenty years, the Coral Springs Police Department has made the holidays brighter for local youth by going holiday shopping with them on December 6 and December 7.
Taking place at Target by 441 and Walmart at Turtle Run Plaza, police officers were paired with 42 children for holiday shopping. Each child received $125 to purchase gifts for themselves and family members.
School officials and officers who work in community outreach programming identified the children. Funding was provided through a Walmart and Target grant meant to strengthen community bonds.
