Donny Vo was elected parliamentarian for the Florida Association of Student Councils (FASC).
Vo, a sophomore and first vice president of the Coral Springs High School Student Government Association, wants to lead an effort to strengthen relationships among high schools in Florida.
“I want to help student governments around the state create better projects. The schools have differences, but I want to help them have improved outcomes,” said Vo.
The FASC consists of more than 200 middle and high school student councils from throughout Florida that work together to encourage growth in student leadership development, participation in student activities, and student engagement in civic affairs.
According to the FASC website, the overall goal of FASC is to help student councils meet the changing needs of their schools and students.
Vo has achieved leadership success at Coral Springs. He was a student leader for the school’s 50th anniversary, which brought together students, faculty, alumni, and community leaders for a weekend fellowship.
