Coral Springs is moving forward with the Sportsplex Optimization project.
The city awarded Sports Facilities Development a contract for Facility Optimization and Recreation Master Planning Services to develop vacant land behind the Aquatics Complex on Sportsplex Drive for a gymnasium facility with sports courts, a track, bleachers, a fitness center, locker rooms, and multi-purpose amenities, according to city information.
As the project approaches the design phase, it is estimated to cost up to $100 million, according to Sayona Khandwalla, the city’s spokesperson.
During a June 5 meeting, PBK Architects, Florida Inc., was selected by the evaluation committee as the top-ranked company for architectural and engineering services.
Next, the purchasing division will begin contract negotiations, according to Khandwalla.
If an agreement is reached, it would then be brought before the city commission at an upcoming public meeting, which, at the earliest, could be on June 17, 2026, according to Khandwalla.
