Laneia Meacham-Hall is the new principal at Country Hills Elementary School in Coral Springs.
She comes from nearby Parkside Elementary School, where she served as principal for 13 years.
For Meacham-Hall, the move to Country Hills is a homecoming. She was an assistant principal there from 2003 to 2011 and still knows some of the staff.
While some leaders come to a school with big ideas for change, Meacham-Hall believes in the staff, teachers, and parent leaders at Country Hills. She is looking forward to encouraging continued success at the A-rated school.
“Country Hills is a thriving school with good teachers, wonderful parents, and a strong community. I want to build positive relationships with the people here,” said Meacham-Hall.
The children at Country Hills must be the focus of everyone who works at the school. Meacham-Hall knows that academic work and tests can be challenging, but she wants to make school an exciting experience.
“I want to make learning fun for the students here. Every child is different, and we need to reach the whole child. A good teacher must love children and care about their success. My goal will always be to do what is best for the children,” said Meacham-Hall.
The Country Hills Parent-Teacher Association is an active organization, and Meacham-Hall is looking forward to working with its members. She is excited about upcoming activities, including a fun run.
On the evening of July 30, Country Hills held a Meet-The-Principal night. She introduced herself to the families and parents, and the children had an opportunity to talk with her.
