Kayden Williams {BSO}
A Coral Springs woman with a long history of gun-related arrests was taken into custody last week following a police search tied to a shooting investigation, according to court records.
Kayden Williams, 21, was arrested just after midnight on January 28 at her residence in the 11500 block of Northwest 36th Street after Coral Springs Police executed a search warrant connected to a robbery and shooting that occurred the night before.
Investigators say Williams is suspected of orchestrating a robbery that escalated into a shooting in which the victim was struck three times.
According to a probable cause affidavit, officers with the Coral Springs Police Department’s SWAT team surrounded the home and issued repeated verbal commands for occupants to exit.
While Williams’ mother, younger sibling, and a roommate complied, police said Williams remained inside the home for more than two hours despite her name being specifically called over a public address system.
Officers ultimately cleared the residence and continued their search. During the search of a bedroom identified by Williams’ mother as belonging to her, officers located multiple live rounds of ammunition inside a yellow fanny pack and on top of a desk.
Police noted that the same type of ammunition had been used in two recent shootings under investigation. Detectives also reported observing Williams wearing the same fanny pack during covert surveillance the day prior.
Williams was eventually found hiding on top of the roof of the residence and taken into custody.
Williams was arrested and transported to the Broward County Main Jail, where she is held without bond.
Court records show Williams was adjudicated delinquent in July 2022 and is legally prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition under Florida law.
Court records reveal that Williams is barred from possessing firearms because of charges dating back to December 2021, when she was still a minor. At that time, she faced one count of attempted felony murder, three counts of armed burglary, and three counts of robbery with a firearm.
Records indicate Williams was committed to a maximum-risk residential program for juveniles and later placed on conditional release, which ended in May 2025.
