Detectives are investigating a dead body found behind the Walmart Neighborhood Market in Coral Springs Monday night, police said.
Coral Springs Police received a call about the man’s body near the dumpsters behind the store at 10635 W. Atlantic Blvd around 6 p.m., said Coral Springs Police Sgt. Ernesto Bruna.
Police arrived and found the dead man, whose cause of death was not immediately made public.
Investigators from the police department’s Crimes Against Persons Unit are investigating.
Detectives were reviewing surveillance footage at the property and speaking with people in the area, police said.
The crime scene remained active Monday night.
Since the man’s death was unattended, police will wait for the results of toxicology testing, and for the medical examiner’s determination of his cause of death, before categorizing the case, said Coral Springs Police spokesman Officer Chris Swinson.
“Our investigators don’t want to rush to categorize the death until they have been able to review all reports,” Swinson said.
