Cheryl “Cher Cher” Gordon, founder and CEO of SKIRTSTRONG Inc., will speak at a Rotary Club of Coral Springs event Thursday, Oct. 8, in Margate.
The event begins at 6:30 p.m. at La Pizzeria, 5632 Sample Road in Margate.
Gordon founded SKIRTSTRONG, a nonprofit that supports survivors of domestic violence and helps them rebuild their lives. A survivor herself, she is also an author, speaker, and mentor whose work focuses on awareness, education, and community action.
According to the event announcement, Gordon has been recognized through community partnerships and a proclamation from the city of Lauderhill. Her work brings together survivors, community leaders, law enforcement, and organizations to address domestic violence.
Gordon also advocates for Sunshine Ark Community, a future safe haven that offers women and children safety, healing, and resources.
