To adopt a friend for life, the Humane Society of Broward County requires the following adoption fee.


  • $135.00 for Puppies
  • $100.00 for Dogs
  • $50.00 for Felines under 6 months
  • Adoption fee waived for Felines over 6 months
  • $40.00 for second Cat or Kitten adopted at the same time
  • $20.00 for Rabbits*
  • $15.00 for Guinea Pigs
  • $55.00 for Ferrets

This fee includes:

  • Spaying/neutering for every animal, including puppies and kittens, before going home
  • Treatment for fleas & ticks
  • Preliminary vaccinations and de-worming
  • Overall wellness check
  • Heartworm test for dogs and Feline Leukemia test for cats
  • Microchip and registration
  • Complimentary bag of Purina ONE pet food
  • Free pet behavior counseling
  • 14-day follow-up care provided by VCA Animal Hospital

*Includes spay or neuter and microchip identification
