The first of two forums for all Coral Springs City-wide candidates will be held on Tuesday, September 23.
Sponsored by St. Andrew Church and moderated by the League of Women Voters, the public is invited to find out more about our future elected leaders.
The November ballot includes Walter “Skip” Campbell and City Commissioner Tom Powers running for the Mayor’s seat; Lou Cimaglia and Howard Melamed on the ticket for City Commission Seat Four; and Joy Carter, Andy Holtz and Laurette Homan running for Seat Five.
Seat Two was won unopposed by City Commissioner Dan Daley.
The event will take place in the Rectory Hall at St. Andrew Church located at 9950 NW 29th Street at 7 p.m.
The second forum will be held on Tuesday, October 14 at 7 p.m. at the Coral Springs Charter School Auditorium.

I would like to know why seat 2 went unopposed while seat 5 has three people running for it….. tell me more about why some seats matter and some apparently do not….

Seat two is occupied by Commissioner Dan Daley and no one chose to run against him. Anyone was welcome to, but no one did and he won the seat uncontested. As far as Seat 5, that was an open seat left from Commissioner Tom Powers who is running for Mayor. Hope that helps.
Do not forget the CS Chamber Political Forum on Oct 21st at the Marriott
The CS Chamber of Commerce is a joke:
They’re appointed, accomplish nothing, and always lean towards the incumbents to keep their jobs and justify their existence.
It should be abolished.
looking forward to it
I’m with you — it makes no sense.
Should the act to vote be a right, privilege or responsibility
is always up for debate … but it is an act that should not be taken lightly. I
believe that most Americans feel that the vote is sacrosanct. With this said,
do we as citizens truly make informed decisions when we enter the polling booth
on Election Day. With the forum last Tuesday, I was disappointed that in city
of 120k plus so few voter attended tolearn more about the policies and beliefs
of the candidates. Were they can make an intelligent decision on Nov 4th
and elect those who will make Coral Spring a City of Excellence, Hope to see thousand
at the next forum at the Charter School
Is there a candidate forum tomorrow night at the Charter School.
