The future of baseball in Coral Springs is on full display, with a strong group of local talent selected to compete in the HSBN All-Star Game.
Coral Springs Charter will be well represented, sending a balanced mix of upperclassmen and rising underclassmen to the event.
Leading the way are juniors Nolan Mianowski and Jaxon Krugman. Mianowski has contributed on both sides of the ball, batting .311 with a home run, six doubles, and 12 RBIs. His power surge included his second career home run, and he has also been effective on the mound, recording three saves this last year. Krugman has been steady at the plate, hitting .281 with five doubles and a triple, while also making an impact as a pitcher with four scoreless appearances.
Among the underclassmen, Chris Lora has continued to develop after earning a varsity call-up as a freshman. After collecting four hits and three RBIs in limited action last year, he is now hitting .285 with 11 RBIs and 13 runs scored, along with an impressive .584 on-base percentage. Andres Romay has also taken a step forward in his second season, significantly increasing his playing time and contributing a pair of RBIs.
At the freshman level, Johan Valbuena and Kyle Borbet will compete after strong debut seasons. Valbuena is hitting .308 with a .491 on-base percentage, adding four RBIs and 11 runs scored. Borbet has made an immediate impact at the varsity level, batting .333 with seven RBIs and 10 runs scored.
Coral Glades, which sits at 14-8 this season, will also have a strong presence with five selections.
Juniors Jason Lincoln and Enzo Hernandez headline the group. Lincoln has been dominant on the mound, posting an ERA under 1.70 across his high school career. This season, he has recorded two wins with 20 strikeouts in 17 innings. At the plate, he is hitting .333 with nine RBIs, along with five doubles and a triple. Hernandez has been one of the team’s top offensive threats, batting .312 with three home runs, eight extra-base hits, and a team-high 14 RBIs.
Sophomores Zack Krey and Charlie Beatty were selected for the sophomore game. Krey is hitting .295 with a home run, 11 RBIs, and nine runs scored. Beatty has been active on the mound, posting a 3-2 record with a 3.75 ERA in seven appearances. Rounding out the selections is freshman Xzavier Bynum, who has impressed at the junior varsity level and earned a spot on varsity.
