The Garden Club of Coral Springs is hosting an educational horticulture series featuring a range of meetings and lectures from September to April.
Held at the Northwest Regional Library, the sessions, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., aim to promote conservation and gardening insights. The series commences on September 16 with a talk on Orchids Repotting and Care by Jim-N-I Orchid.
“Like a horticultural series, life unfolds in seasons. Each chapter brings new growth, blossoming beauty, and the wisdom of tending to the roots,” said Jeri Decker, president of the Garden Club of Coral Springs, adding that guests of the lectures are invited to “nurture their dreams and let the garden of their lives flourish.”
She said that members of the Garden Club, a local nonprofit organization involved in environmental and community work, want to share the beauty of gardening with others.
Future sessions include “Wildlife in the Park” with Broward County Parks Naturalist on November 9, environmentalist Claudia Alzate’s discourse on Composting and recycling on December 14, and Flowering Plants for Shaded Areas guided by a Master Gardener on January 13.
Ricky from Botanica Organica will enlighten attendees on Edible and Medicinal Plants on February 8, and the series concludes on April 11 with a discussion on Sea Turtles by Broward County Sea Turtle Conservation.
The Northwest Regional Library is located at 3151 University Drive.
