Celebrate freedom with food, fun, and laughter at the Coral Springs Juneteenth Celebration, featuring comedian Preacher Lawson and a vibrant pre-party on Wednesday, June 19
The event kicks off at 6 p.m. at the Coral Springs Center for the Arts with a pre-party featuring food and entertainment. It includes a step performance by Divine 9, a fashion showcase by ADU Salon, arts and crafts, complimentary small bites from local black-owned restaurants, and beverages for purchase.
The highlight of the evening will be a performance by comedian Preacher Lawson at 8 p.m. Lawson is known for his appearances on America’s Got Talent and Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions.
The celebration will include a formal welcome from the Coral Springs City Commission. Commissioner Joshua Simmons, the city’s first black commissioner, initiated the establishment of Juneteenth as a city holiday.
“Get ready, Coral Springs! We’re packing a lot of excitement, entertainment, and laughs into our Juneteenth Celebration this year,” Simmons said. “I look forward to seeing our community come together for our annual Juneteenth commemoration.”
Tickets are available now, starting at $35 for non-residents and $25 for Coral Springs residents using the code BESTDAYEVER.
Juneteenth, or “Freedom Day,” commemorates the liberation of enslaved people in Galveston, Texas, on June 19, 1865, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed.
