Election Day is around the corner. With this in mind, the League of Women Voters Broward County has organized a virtual forum designed to introduce the crowded field of candidates vying for Coral Springs city commission Seats 3 and 5.
Monica Elliott, President of the organization, said, “The League urges everyone to be an informed voter and know what your candidates will do if elected. Virtual forums are now the best way to accomplish that.”
For those hoping to ensure they are good to go on voting day, Elliott points people to vote.411.org.
On Monday, October 5, the forum will be held at 8 p.m, live-streamed on their Facebook page, where it will remain available until November 3. A day after the broadcast, voters may find it on the Broward LWV Youtube channel.
Six of the eight candidates speaking at the forum seek an open spot on Seat 3. Seat 5, currently held by Vice Mayor Joy Carter, is being challenged this election season by political newcomer Cathy Remy.
For in-depth reporting on these platforms and the prospective city commissioners behind them, Coral Springs Talk has interviewed candidates for Seat 3 and Seat 5.
The League of Women Voters Broward County is a nonpartisan organization.
