Lion Star Academy received about $3,000 worth of school supplies from the Rotary Club of Coral Springs on January 8.
The Rotary club dropped off supplies, including motion lamps, tables, easels, adaptive equipment, and other classroom items. Lion Star Academy, located at 1710 North University Drive, is a non-profit organization that serves 14 special needs students in grades K-12, according to Lisa Bennett, School Director.
“This means we have more resources to serve our students,” said Bennett.
The Rotary Club has been raising money through raffles and grants to pay for the supplies. “This is a way we can help others and give back to the community,” said Jean Regalado, Club President.
