North Springs Little League will have two teams competing for state championships after both its 11U and 13U teams captured sectional titles on Saturday.
The 13u team (Juniors) also earned a spot at states after winning the District Championship over Parkland Little League. Playing in Cutler Bay during sectionals, North Springs edged its opponent 6-5 in the opening game before securing a 10-3 victory in the second game to advance.
The 14U team (Intermediate 50/70) team continued its dominant postseason run after winning a District Championship, outscoring Doral 27-0. North Springs opened sectional play with a 10-0 victory over Doral before completing the sweep with a 17-0 win to punch its ticket to the state tournament. They previously beat Fort Lauderdale in Districts.
Both teams will now compete in the State Championship tournament, which is scheduled to begin on July 11 in Crystal River. The 11U team previously won a District Championship and will play in Sections on July 17.
