A 74-year-old woman struck and killed by a vehicle in Coral Springs Friday has been identified, police said.
Joan Skeegan, of North Lauderdale, was hit by a vehicle around 4:50 p.m. in a parking lot at a shopping center in the 4600 block of North University Drive, according to Coral Springs Police.
She was airlifted by Broward Sheriff’s Office Air Rescue to a local hospital, where she died from her injuries, police said.
The female driver of the vehicle, Reijane Lobo Superville, 46, remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities, police said.
No arrests had been made as of Tuesday, and the investigation was ongoing, according to the department. Additional information about the incident was not made public Tuesday.
According to an online obituary, Skeegan is survived by her husband, Bill Skeegan; her children, Lyndsay Skeegan and Allison Fournier (Skeegan); her grandchildren, Liv, Maddie, and Harper; and her siblings, Howard and Ferne.
In lieu of flowers, the obituary said people can send donations to Sharsheret, a Jewish nonprofit organization helping those with breast cancer or ovarian cancer, through Skeegan’s memorial page. Skeegan was a cancer survivor, according to the page.
