What would have been its 28th year, Bethlehem Revisited — a popular biblical recreation has been canceled this year.
Sponsored by First Church Coral Springs, the recreation of Bethlehem’s town from 2,000 years ago included a walled city utilizing more than 30,500 square feet of lumber, a marketplace, shepherds, Roman soldiers, storytellers, and a living nativity.
“We regret to inform you that for the first time in its 27-year history, Bethlehem Revisited is canceled,” said the statement from First Church Coral Springs.
They added that due to the increase in Covid-19 cases in Florida and the lack of building materials and supplies, it was necessary to cancel the event.
“We pray that our loyal visitors and community will find other ways to keep the Christ Child at the center of their celebration. You all will be in our thoughts and prayers throughout the holiday season. We look forward to seeing you in 2021 as we return to again share the joy of Christ’s birth.”
