Former J.P. Taravella standout Anthony Quigley enjoyed an impressive high school career, and he is now carrying that success into the collegiate level.
The 2024 graduate recently announced his commitment to the University of Oklahoma after beginning his college journey at the University of South Florida and then competing this season at Northwest Florida State College.
“Going to the SEC has always been a dream of mine, and being able to do it with a program like Oklahoma is a dream come true,” Quigley said. “I’m beyond thankful for the journey God has put me on and for all the support I’ve had over the years. I can’t wait to get to work next year.”
Quigley is currently leading his team in nearly every offensive category. He is batting .427 with 15 home runs, 46 RBIs, 40 runs scored, and 16 stolen bases. He has also drawn 21 walks, posting an impressive .545 on-base percentage. Additionally, he has recorded two doubles and three triples this season, ranking among the top hitters in the country.
“I came here and got the opportunity to play more and showcase my talent,” Quigley said. “JUCO ball is different — it’s a grind. It can be tough at times, but it’s definitely worth it. Coming here was a decision I’m extremely proud of.”
Quigley began playing baseball in Margate at the age of seven with the South Florida Inferno. He later played with the 13U Cannons before transferring to J.P. Taravella as a sophomore.
During his high school career, Quigley hit five home runs, including three during his senior season, while also earning four wins on the mound. He also played travel baseball with the Original Florida Pokers and will be eligible for the MLB Draft following the 2027 season.
