State Restricts Food Deliveries to Coral Springs Citgo Following Continued Dead Rodent, Fresh Droppings Issues

State inspectors restricted food deliveries to a Coral Springs Citgo Food Mart after finding a dead rodent and fresh droppings during a follow-up inspection, weeks after previous pest-related violations were documented.

According to records from the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, inspectors visited the Citgo Food Mart doing business as a 7-Eleven at 10380 Royal Palm Road on June 3 and determined that previously identified pest issues had not been adequately addressed.

The action comes roughly three weeks after inspectors issued multiple Stop Use Orders affecting the store’s coffee bar, soda machines, frozen-drink dispensers, hot-food equipment, and food-preparation areas due to widespread evidence of rodent activity.

During a May 14 inspection, state inspectors documented more than 100 fresh rodent droppings beneath beverage machines and throughout the store’s processing room. Additional droppings were reportedly found inside cabinets near coffee service items and in storage boxes containing single-use cups.

At that time, inspectors warned that any future evidence of pest activity could result in further enforcement action, including restrictions on food deliveries.

When inspectors returned for a follow-up inspection on June 3, they reported finding a dead rodent in a trap beneath a three-compartment sink in the back room, along with fresh rodent droppings inside cabinets beneath fountain drink dispensers and the coffee bar.

As a result, the state issued a Stop Use Order on the store’s receiving area, preventing the business from accepting additional food shipments until the violations are corrected.

The inspection report also warned that if evidence of pest infestation is observed during the next scheduled inspection, state officials may issue a Stop Sale Order covering all food products in the establishment.
