Taipei Youth Folk Sports Group Entertain Campers in Coral Springs

On Wednesday, the Taipei Youth Folk Sports Group entertained day camp audiences at the Coral Springs Gymnasium with their dance and gymnastics performances.

“They have been to Chicago, Houston, Dallas, Orlando and Coral Springs will be their last stop before they fly back to Taipei tomorrow,” said Sak Chen president of the Coral Springs Chinese Cultural Association, who invited the group to the city as part of their outreach program.

Taipei is the capital of Taiwan and is a small island nation that is part of the Republic of China which is 8,599 miles away from Coral Springs.

Each year, 26 outstanding youth folk sports masters who are only ages 12-14, who have passed demanding and strict training in gymnastics dance, travel all over the U.S. to promote cultural exchanges.

The 70-minute program which was performed in front of many of the city campers showcased Taiwan’s unique rope skipping, Chinese yo yo, shuttlecock kicking, diabolo spinning, and top spinning sports while combining dance, martial arts, gymnastics and other theater performance elements.

Their work is the result of hard effort of training with precise body control and perfect cooperation of their team.
