Coral Springs police have arrested a teenager in connection with a fatal crash that occurred nearly two years ago in Pompano Beach.
Jeanson Novembre, 19, of Coral Springs, has been arrested and charged with vehicular homicide and multiple counts of reckless driving following a high-speed, 2023 wrong-way crash that killed a motorcyclist in Pompano Beach.
According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, the fatal collision took place on February 28, 2023, on Northeast Third Avenue near Sample Road.
Deputies said Novembre, who was 17 at the time, was driving a silver 2003 Toyota Corolla northbound in the southbound lanes at an estimated 70 mph in a 30 mph zone when he struck a motorcycle head-on.
The Broward County Medical Examiner’s Office later conducted an autopsy, confirming that the victim died from blunt-force trauma. Investigators used witness statements, surveillance video, and speed calculations to determine Novembre’s recklessness.
Records show the victim’s wife was a passenger on the motorcycle and survived her injuries.
Crash scene investigation records show that after the impact, Novembre lost control of the Toyota, which crashed into a utility pole, causing it to collapse. A passenger in his vehicle was also injured.
BSO and deputies from the crash investigation unit will continue investigating the incident in collaboration with the Broward Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Investigations Unit.
Novembre was arrested on February 27 and transported to the Broward County Main Jail, where he is being held on a $90,000 bond.
