With the girls’ volleyball District Tournament underway, four Coral Springs teams were in action on Monday, with one team advancing to the semifinals.

Coral Springs Charter

Coral Springs Charter, who came into the tournament as the two seed after going 14-4 this season, picked up a 25-8, 25-9, 25-14 over Dreyfoos School of the Arts win to move to the Semifinals.

CSC is set to play North Broward Prep after the Eagles defeated American Heritage School in their match on Monday. NBP is 9-8 this year and will take on the Panthers for the first time this season. Game time is set for Tuesday, Oct. 18, at 7 p.m.

Coral Glades

After winning four matches during the regular season under first-year Head Coach Brianna Dawson, Coral Glades faced Charles W. Flanagan High School in the opening round. They fell in three tight sets while the Falcons advanced to play Cypress Bay High School in the District Semifinals.

Coral Springs High School

Like Coral Glades, Coral Springs High School had a first-year head coach Tashieka Tatum John and won 12 matches this year. However, they fell in their opening match of the District Tournament to Spanish River Community High School.

J.P. Taravella

It was a challenging year for J.P. Taravella, who won only one match this season. They also fell in the opening round of the District Tournament to West Broward High School.
