A resident’s photo has made a list of the best selfies of all time. Malik Whiter, was a junior at Coral Springs Charter School, when he shot the photo of himself as his business teacher Susana Halleck appeared to go into labor.
The article was published on ViralNova, an Internet publication created to “fill the void that traditional media publications leave,” its website says. The article was shared on Facebook today by Actor George Takei, who has over 8 million followers.
The student tweeted the photo back in October 2013 of Halleck going into labor and smiling in front of her. The photo went viral after being retweeted thousands of times.
The caption read: “Selfie with my teacher while she is having contractions.”
Hallack can be seen amid contractions as she calls her mother to assure her that everything is fine.
“I told her to smile, but she said no,” Whiter tweeted. “So I got her off guard.”
As it turned out, the baby was not ready to be delivered. After being checked out of the hospital, the teacher returned to class.
Included on ViralNova’s list of greatest selfies are President Barack Obama and Denmark’s Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmid, Hillary Clinton with Meryl Streep, Eminem in front of the Mona Lisa, Jackie Kennedy, Hunter S. Thompson, Eminem, and then there’s Malik Whiter of Coral Springs.
