The Coral Glades High School Football team has high hopes for the 2020 season as they get ready for their opening game of the year at home on Friday, Oct. 30, at 7 p.m. against Coral Springs Charter.
The Jaguars return a large part of their offensive team that won three games last season. Head Coach Cameron Thomas is only focused on trying to get better each day, and the results will come.
"Our expectations this year is to slowly take over the city one practice, one game at a time. We want to be the most competitive team in our corner of Broward County."
The Jaguars will have success if they can get another strong season from Quarterback Kyle Williamson. He threw 1,152 yards and passed for 11 touchdowns. Williamson also showed that he could use his legs as he scrambled for 161 yards on 34 carries.
Keshawn Barrett will likely see plenty of time again as he led the team in rushing with 228 yards, and Jamari Collier will be a huge part of the offense at receiver. He had a strong year the 18 catches and finished second in the team in receiving yards in 2019 with 238 yards.
Defensively, Joseph Rispoli and Raoul Pierre both return after the two players combined for 75 tackles in 2019.
The Jaguars play in a tough conference with Marjory Stoneman Douglas, Coral Springs High School, and J.P. Taravella, but with a shortened season, they will aim for a District Championship.
