The top student-athletes from the spring sports season were selected to the BCAA All-Star Games, with several standout performers representing Coral Springs area schools.
Coral Springs Charter featured nine all-stars, highlighted by softball home run derby champion Gio Gurgel. Gurgel recently helped lead the Panthers past Cardinal Gibbons High School to capture a Regional Championship and advance to the State Championship. She was joined in the All-Star Game by Leah Rutherford. Gurgel blasted six home runs during the derby and now has nine on the season, while Rutherford is batting .321.
Easton Viveros, Edward Canard, and Rodney Chung were selected from the baseball team after the Panthers reached the District Final and qualified for Regionals. Viveros, a Florida International University signee, hit .390 this season. Canard posted a 5-1 record on the mound, while Chung batted .352 with one home run and 18 RBIs.

Guerrera recorded 12 receiving touchdowns, while Charilton and Conte combined for 64 flags pulled. Luke Snyder was the lone representative from the boys’ volleyball team following a three-win season.
Coral Glades also had nine student-athletes selected, including softball standouts Cameron Marques, Addison Schwartzberg, and Haleigh Thomas. All three are college commits and helped the Jaguars reach Regionals this season. Madison Watts and Delaney Gordon were chosen from the flag football team, while Cole Fisher represented the boys’ volleyball team.
