
Coral Springs Charter Baseball. {CSC Baseball}
While most students were off for spring break, several high school baseball teams were in action, gearing up for the postseason.
Coral Springs High School played four games in the Florida High School Invitational. In their first game on March 24, they knocked off IMG Academy Golf 8-6 after two RBIs from Natron Wheeler.
Ryan Guthrie, Luis Comella, Jaxon Krugman, Manny Torres, and Shaqillue Sala had RBIS, while Angelo Painter picked up the win with four strong innings. He did not allow an earned run and struck out five before Aiden Roy and Angel Ruguian pitched in relief.
The Colts then went on to win 8-6 against Miami Palmetto Senior High School after scoring three runs in the bottom of the seventh for a walk-off win. Brandon Mattock led the way with three RBIs, while Guthrie drove in two, Krugman knocked in one, and Ruguian plated one. Ruguian also earned the win, with Roy and Garcia also pitching.
Coral Glades faced off against the reigning State Champions in North Broward Prep but lost 13-3. Charlie Beaty, Jack Krey, and Asa Lindo recorded two hits and an RBI.
The Jaguars fell to 11-5 this season and will play Somerset Academy Canyons in their next game on Wednesday, April 2, at 5:30 p.m. The Cougars are 10-7 this year but lost 10-0 against the Jaguars last season.
J.P. Taravella went 1-2, losing to ABF Academy Homestead 16-6, despite a pair of RBIs from Sebstaian Mayfield and Tyler Morgan. The Trojans then lost a tight 4-3 game against Archbishop Mcarthy High School, following two RBIS from Anthony Toizol before an extra inning. win against St. John Paul II Academy.
Toizol and Morgan contributed RBIs, while Mayfield added two more hits. Mikael Ghann earned the win, tossing eight innings and allowing only one earned run with three punchouts.
Coming off a wild 23-17 win against South Plantation High School before spring break, Coral Springs Charter competed in three games, starting with a 15-5 victory over Deerfield Beach High School. With the bases loaded, Damarion Chung hit an inside-the-park home run to drive in four.
Chris Lora also drove in three, while Anton Fournier, Yadisson Karbalaieasghar, and Jackson Taylor each scored one. Reid Dadic pitched a complete game and allowed only three earned runs, striking out seven.
