From the Coral Springs City Commission:
After a two-year pandemic roller coaster, Coral Springs business owners, residents, and community leaders are soaring toward a smooth spring complete with warmer weather, family-friendly events, and community togetherness. As a city we are, once again, proving our resilience as we emerge ready to press forward into a promising future of positivity and prosperity.
March is Women’s History Month. This month, we are proud to highlight the accomplishments of women in our community – from our city’s leadership to female business owners and emerging female leaders living in and attending school in our community. Coral Springs is proud to position women for lifelong success and personal fulfillment. Follow along on the city’s social media channels to meet some of the marvelous women in our community.
In-person camps are back in session. The Parks and Recreation Department is pleased to host Spring Break Camps tailored to a variety of interests that range from athletics to the arts. Residents can visit CoralSprings.org/recreation to learn more about camp offerings.
Residents can make a splash at Cypress Water Park, which will be open through spring break. Located on Coral Springs Drive across from Cypress Park, the water park features a unique clover-shaped pool, a splash pad, a water playground, and a twisting water slide. Residents can visit the park from Saturday, March 19 to Sunday, March 27, with daily hours from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Slice of the Springs returns to its in-person format this month. This Town Hall-style event gives residents the opportunity to ask questions, stay in the know on city happenings, and interact directly with staff from different departments, including Police, Fire, Community Development, Code Compliance, Parks and Recreation, and more. Slice of the Springs forums will take place on Thursday, March 3, March 10, and April 21. To view locations, visit CoralSprings.org/slice.
Finally, March features a variety of family-friendly events and activities. Worldfest celebrates the diversity of our community with ethnic foods, cultural performances, and art activities for kids. The event will be held on Sunday, March 6, at City Hall.
Families can have a blast with Laser Tag and Ice Skating on Wednesday, March 23 at 4 p.m at Panthers Ice Den. Admission is free. In addition, Open Chess has returned and is taking place on Wednesday, March 2, and Wednesday, April 6, at 6 p.m. at Sartory Hall in Mullins Park.
All ages and skill levels are welcome. The city is pleased to welcome back the Festival of the Arts, held at The Walk at University. The event will feature a professional, juried art show with more than 175 fine artisans and crafters and will take place on Saturday, March 19, and Sunday, March 20, from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. each day.
