After an incredible seven-year run for Head Coach Mark Montimurro and senior Brianna Godfrey on the Coral Springs Charter softball team, the two were on the field together for a final time.
Montimurro had the opportunity to coach Godfrey in the All-State Softball Game on June 3-4, in Lakeland, where they went 1-1.
Godfrey pitched three innings and went 3-4 at the plate with two RBIs.Â
“Really happy that Bri’s last high school game ended with a win and lots of production from a dynamic player, said Montimurro. “Pretty cool to coach her one last time.”
The University of Marshall signee was a four-time State Champion, and on the mound, she won 60 games and had an ERA of .69. In 367 innings, Godfrey struck out 637 hitters. Offensively, she hit .350 with seven home runs and 86 RBIs.Â
During their seven years, they went 166-15. Montimurro picked up his 500th career win in 2021 and was selected into the Champs Sports Homefield Wall of Games in April.
