Kelsey Dunne’s soccer career will continue beyond high school after committing to play next year at Queens University of Charlotte.
Dunne always wanted to play at a higher level and felt extremely comfortable in North Carolina. A 2022 graduate from Coral Springs Charter, Dunne started playing soccer when she was five, playing three years on the varsity soccer team.
During that time, she helped the Panthers go 41-13-2. In 3,900 minutes, Dunne allowed only 50 goals and had 170 saves with 29 shutouts.
“I had so much fun with my team at charter, said Dunne. “We had such a good connection and played pretty well together.”
She becomes the fourth goaltender under Head Coach Kristin Grassi to play at the D1/D2 level.
“She knows her role and does an exceptional job, said Coach Grassi. She finds a way to make the critical saves and is a rock her teammates can depend on with quiet leadership and confidence.”
Queens University begins its season on August 28 against Dominican College after winning three games last season. They are set to compete in the A-Sun Conference for the first time this year.
