Saint Mary Magdalene & St. Martin Episcopal Church is hosting a free community awareness day covering important topics in the community.
Held on Saturday, June 24, from 10:00 a.m. until 1:15 p.m., at 1400 Riverside Drive, attendees have the opportunity to learn from expert speakers and engage in discussions addressing critical issues and topics.
To ensure everyone has an opportunity to join the discussions, the church is providing free childcare services during the speaker presentations.
The featured speaker is Hannah Rincon, Community Involvement Officer for the Coral Springs Police, who will deliver a presentation on personal safety and crime prevention.
Lara Underwood and Benjamin McAfree, representing the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), will discuss the importance of maintaining mental health and how to best deal with and identify the signs and symptoms of depression.
Planned speakers, Rev. Diana Garcia and Attorney Janice Villiers, will shed light on Asylum Law, its implications in the local community, and how understanding it is essential and compassionate for those seeking refuge.
The Florida Breast Cancer Foundation will also be on hand at the event to provide information and raise awareness about breast cancer.
