BJ’s Restaurant was ordered to undergo follow-up food and health inspections after an anonymous complaint revealed multiple health code violations.
On January 2, the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation inspected BJ’s Restaurant at 1580 N University Drive in Coral Springs after a complaint was filed. The inspection revealed four health code violations, including a reported presence of dead roaches on the premises.
The report shows that roaches were found behind the takeout counter, near a cabinet, and at the handwashing sink station next to the fryer. Inspectors note in the report that they asked the restaurant to quickly sweep, clean, and sanitize the affected areas.
Additionally, live roach activity was discovered during the inspection, with roaches found behind the soup well in the kitchen. The operator killed the roach and thoroughly cleaned and sanitized the area.
The Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation requires BJ’s Restaurant to address these issues before a follow-up inspection to ensure health and safety standards compliance.
