The City of Coral Springs is actively participating in National Stop the Bleed Day on Thursday, May 22, 2025, by offering free certification courses aimed at equipping residents with essential life-saving skills.
Hosted by the Coral Springs-Parkland Fire Department, these hands-on training sessions will be held at various city facilities, including the Everglades Room at City Hall, located at 9500 W. Sample Road. Each session lasts approximately 90 minutes and is designed to teach participants how to:
- Recognize life-threatening bleeding
- Apply effective pressure
- Use a tourniquet
- Pack a wound
Upon completion, attendees will receive a Stop the Bleed certification, providing them with the confidence and knowledge to assist in bleeding emergencies. Due to the technical nature of the training, participants should be at least 10 years old.
This initiative is part of a nationwide effort to empower citizens to act swiftly in emergencies, potentially saving lives before professional help arrives. The Coral Springs-Parkland Fire Department has been actively involved in this program, reflecting the city’s commitment to public safety and community preparedness.
