The J.P. Taravella boys’ and girls’ cross-country teams performed well at the South Fork Bulldog Invitational cross-country meet in Stuart on October 4.
The boys’ team finished 8th overall, and the girls’ team finished seventh overall out of about 30 teams from around Florida, according to coach Dawn Spann.
Craig Dennis finished 17th, and Scardy Fils finished 25th in the boys’ division. Jada Thelwell, Camila Castillo, and her sister, Valentina Castillo, ran well and had personal best times, according to Spann.
“The course was muddy and there was a lot of rain, but we did well. We are working toward the BCAA championship meet and the district championship race,” said Spann. “Craig Dennis has really stepped up and is running well.”
