The J.P. Taravella High School Marching Trojans earned a superior rating at the Florida Bandmaster Association District 15 Marching Music Performance Assessment (MPA) at Cypress Bay High School on October 25.
Band director Shamar Drumond was proud of the band’s performance and is looking forward to more success. He is in his first year at Taravella.
The Trojans earned superior ratings in general effect, auxiliaries (color guard), and music category.
“The band members have been working very hard this fall, and I am proud of our performance,” said Drumond.
The Coral Glades High School Marching Jaguars earned an excellent rating at the MPA. The band earned a superior in percussion, auxiliary, and marching maneuvers, and excellent ratings in music and general effect.
“We have had problems with rehearsals because of finding locations to practice and weather, but our students have been working very hard, and they did well at the MPA,” said band director Alexander Sanchez.
