Suspect Charged With Attempted Premeditated Murder in Coral Springs Shooting

A 49-year-old man has been arrested and charged with attempted premeditated murder in connection with a domestic-related shooting that left a woman seriously injured Thursday afternoon, police said.
Abdul Perez also faces charges of aggravated battery, possession of a firearm or ammunition subject to an injunction, and tampering with evidence, according to the Coral Springs Police Department.
The shooting happened Thursday, April 16, around 3 p.m. in the 7600 block of West Sample Road. Officers responding to reports of a shooting found a woman suffering from gunshot wounds. She was rushed to Broward Health North with serious injuries; her condition remains unknown, police said.

Investigators later determined the shooting was domestic in nature and arrested Perez.
The department thanked members of the public who assisted investigators, as well as the police whose work led to the arrest.
Police said additional information was expected to be released on Friday as the investigation continues.
