Alexi Rodriguez, a Coral Springs High School senior, is making her mark as both an academic achiever and a student leader.
She is the captain of the Colts cheerleading team and has served as the first vice president of the Student Government Association for the past three years. Rodriguez is also a member of the National Honor Society and currently holds the position of president of the Inter-Organizational Council, which collaborates with school clubs to organize events.
Rodiguez, 17, is doing excellent academically, with a 4.7 GPA. She attends Broward College as an early-admission student living in Coral Springs.
“Being a cheerleader has really helped me grow as a person and help the people around me. I have been on the team for four years and am the first generation in my family to go to college,” said Rodriguez.
Her mother, Antoinette, said Alexi is considering studying law and wants to attend the University of Florida or the University of Central Florida.
