Big Mac and Monroe {Humane Society of Broward County}
Looking to add a furry friend to your family? The Humane Society of Broward County has two irresistible pets hoping to find their forever homes, each with their unique charm and personality.
Big Mac (ID 700043) may have a name that suggests supersize, but this delightful dog weighs just 27 pounds. With his scruffy coat and lively attitude, he might be part Cairn terrier or even schnauzer. Big Mac was transferred from another shelter, so his background is unknown, but he’s been winning hearts ever since he arrived in Fort Lauderdale.
At first, Big Mac was understandably nervous in his new surroundings. But as he settled in, his personality began to shine. He’s become a favorite among staff and even had the chance to spend time with kids in the shelter’s summer camp program, who described him as “hilarious.” He’s playful, smart, treat-motivated, and loves people, especially children. His lively spirit and loving nature make him a great match for an active household ready to embrace a dog with spunk and character.
If you’re more of a cat lover, consider meeting Monroe (ID 697889). At just 11 weeks old and weighing only 2 pounds, Monroe is a tiny bundle of sweetness. She was too small to be adopted when she first arrived at the shelter, so she spent her early days being cared for in a foster home.
Now that she’s ready for adoption, she’s hoping to find someone who will continue giving her all the cuddles and attention she adores.
Monroe doesn’t mind being held and might be the type of cat who wants to curl up next to you in bed. With a lot of growing to do and even more love to give, this little kitten is looking for a gentle, caring home where she can thrive.
If Big Mac or Monroe sounds like the perfect addition to your family, fill out a pre-adoption application at humanebroward.com and visit the Humane Society of Broward County, located at 2070 Griffin Road in Fort Lauderdale. The shelter opens daily at 11 a.m. For questions, call 954-989-3977.
The Humane Society also offers a vaccine clinic open six days a week—no appointment necessary. Visit the website for hours and services offered.
