After various delays that pushed back a grand opening originally scheduled for late 2021, Broward Meat & Fish has finally opened the doors to its much-anticipated 35,000-square-foot Margate location.
On Monday, Broward Meat & Fish celebrated a soft opening of its Margate store located at 3201 North State Road 7, the company’s largest location, topping the size of the North Lauderdale, Lauderdale Lakes, and Pembroke Pines stores.
The location at the southwest of the intersection of State Road 7 and West Sample Road is well-known to locals as the location Penn Dutch Meat and Seafood occupied before closing in 2019 after state inspectors reportedly found areas contaminated with listeria bacteria.
Reached for comment, Mayor Antonio V. Arserio told Margate Talk that he’s not only been impressed with the transformation of the long-vacant location but by the ownership team that undertook the renovation.
“The Broward Meat & Fish Margate location will wow everyone with their selection, size and cleanliness,” Arserio said.
“The family-owned operators went above and beyond to make this location special. And I want to welcome them to Margate.”
Considered a soft opening, Monday’s initial ribbon-cutting is the store’s usual array of hot prepared food and bakery selections. According to store employees, a grand opening event is scheduled for January.
According to a Broward Meat & Fish Facebook announcement, store hours will be Monday-Saturday 8 am-8 pm, and Sunday, 8 am- 6 pm.
