Chabad Jewish Center of Coral Springs is launching a new six-session course, The Kabbalah of Meaning, beginning Tuesday, October 28.
The weekly course aims to help participants discover a deeper sense of purpose and fulfillment by exploring Jewish mystical teachings in an accessible, down-to-earth way.
The first class is open to the public and free of charge, with no obligation to continue. Attendees will be treated to a complimentary light dinner featuring sushi and soups, organizers said.
Led by Rabbi Yankie Denburg, the course promises to delve into the human quest for meaning, using ancient Kabbalistic insights to answer modern questions.
“So many people feel pulled in so many directions. Life can feel like a blur of responsibilities, relationships, and routines,” said Rabbi Denburg. “We work, we save, we plan. But what ties it all together? What gives our lives a meaning and destination?”
Denburg said the course is designed for people of all backgrounds, with no prior knowledge of Judaism or Kabbalah necessary.
“Some hear the word Kabbalah and they get excited by the mystery. Others get scared off,” Rabbi Denburg added. “All you will need is an open mind and a desire to live with more focus and meaning.”
Organizers said the course, among other things, will explore what “meaning” really is, where it comes from, and “how to uncover it in every single part of our day, from the ordinary to the extraordinary.”
“We spend so much of life defining ourselves by what we do — our careers, our roles, our responsibilities. But what happens when that changes?” Denburg said. “When the kids grow up, when work slows down, or the world shifts around us? How can I find the deeper, truer meaning to life? Something that’s about who I am and not about the job I do.”
The course also offers nine CME credits for doctors, psychologists, and other licensed therapists.
Classes will be held both in-person and via Zoom. Scholarships are available.
