When the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor by surprise on December 7, 1941, every young man rushed to enlist in the military to help defend our country. It didn’t matter if they were old enough to fight, many lied about their age because they were so committed to the cause.
One of those was my own father, who along with thousands of others, served our country.
On Wednesday, the Coral Springs Veterans Coalition will honor the 75th Anniversary of Pearl Harbor Day in a special flag dedication. The public is welcome to attend at 9551 W. Sample Road following the commission meeting outside of city hall at 10:30 a.m.
