Coral Glades girls soccer team picked up an impressive 3-0 win over Charles W. Flanagan High School on Wednesday.
Flanagan had a record of 6-2-1 and was shut out for only the second time this year. Head Coach Richard Denny thought his team responded well to their scores less draw on Tuesday.
“In our first game, we were getting used to playing with each other again, and the play showed,” said Coach Denny. “Today, we were more focused, and it showed. Great response by the team.”
Nina Blatz, Victoria Fuentes, and Leilani Del Valle all scored goals, while Kaitlyn Harter picked up the win in net. It was the Jaguars’ fourth win of the season, only allowing two goals in games they have won this year.
The Jaguars now head into their next game on Tuesday, January 11, with four wins on the season. However, they will be competing against the unbeaten Marjory Stoneman Douglas Eagles, who last beat Coral Glades in the 2021 District Championship. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m.
