
Coral Glades Track and Field. {Dr. Mark Kaplan}

On Saturday, the Coral Glades track and field team competed in the Walter Dix Invitational at Coral Springs High School.
“The team is doing great so far,” said Head Coach Jerald Burley. “Our plan is to keep improving every week and every meet.
The boys and girls teams finished in sixth place and had their best results in the triple jump. Tyler Monroe had the lone Jaguars victory, followed by Damonie Taylor and Zion Taylor in second, and Giselle Thomas third for the girls.
Boys Team
The Jaguars did extremely well in the 300 hurdles, with Corey Tate finishing second. Three of their relay teams came in fifth, and one came in seventh. Nathanael Renie and Kenyon Carey had strong performances in their events, while Francesco Mannino finished seventh and ninth in the shot put and discus, respectively.
Girls Team
Saniya Swain came in third in the 300 hurdles. The Jaguars also ran well in their relay races, with Sanon Christie, Kamora Joseph, Gabiyis Blanco, and Zion Tomlin finishing third in the 4 x 100 relay team. They also had one team place fourth, and three teams come in sixth in other relay races.
Other notable competitors for Coral Glades were Stashaw Minto and Jada Nicholson, who finished two events in the top ten, while Alawi Ali came in tenth in the 100 meters with 14.61. Next, the Jaguars will race again on Tuesday, March 8, at Coral Springs High School.
