Teams, players, and a coach from Coral Springs received awards from the Florida Athletic Association.
Conference awards include players from Coral Springs Charter, Coral Glades, and J.P. Taravella, two residents who attend Pompano Beach High School and the Head Coach of Coral Springs Charter.
Coral Springs Charter
Mark Montimurro: Coach of the Year
Head Coach Mark Montimurro had another terrific season. The five-time state champion with CSC led the Panthers to 23 wins and a trip to the Regional Final before being named Coach of the Year.
Brianna Godfrey: Player of the Year
Brianna Godfrey was named the Conference Player of the Year for the second season. The University of Marshal signee went 19-3 with an ERA of .67. She also hit .395 this year with three home runs.
Stina Dagostino: First Team
Freshmen Stina Dagostino made the First Team All-Conference. In 24 games this year, she hit .397 with four home runs and nine RBIs.
Kate Maston: First Team
In her first season playing softball, Kate Maston also made the First Team All-Conference. Playing the outfield, she batted .408, with five home runs and three triples.
Heather Robertson: First Team
Heather Robertson also was a freshman and led the team with a .435 batting average to make the First Team. She scored 21 runs which was only behind Maston this season.
Stephanie Basso: First Team
Stephanie Basso provided the power this Year at CSC with a team-high six home runs. She hit three of those in one game, including a grand slam, and also was the starting catcher.
Bella Bertorelli: First Team
Bella Berterelli finished off her junior season with 24 hits in 27 games. She also drove in 19 runs and had nine extra-base hits.
Sophia Bertorelli: Honorable Mention
Sophia Bertorelli was an honorable mention after recording eight hits in 36 at-bats. She also played well defensively for Coach Montimurro.
Julia Estroff: Honorable Mention
Julia Estroff continues to shine just like her older sister Emily did for CSC. Julia hit .316 with four RBIs in 2022.
Taylor Golden: Honorable Mention
Senior Taylor Golden not only was an honorable mention to the conference team this year, but she also competed in the BCAA All-Star Game. After suffering an injury as a junior, Golden hit .277.
Addison Michel: Honorable Mention
In her first year on the varsity softball team, Addison Michel had 20 hits this season and scored 16 runs.
Coral Glades
Ciara Gendron
Junior Ciara Gendron had a strong year pitching and hitting. She won four games and had an ERA of 3.30, including a complete-game shutout.
Carmela Smith
In her second year on varsity, Carmela Smith hit over .300 with 13 RBIs and 21 runs scored. She also hit one of the team’s three home runs this year.
Mackenzie Wolf: Honorable Mention
Mackenzie Wolfe was the final honorable mention to the All-Conference Team. She better .377 and had an on-base percentage over .400.
Christian Garnett: Honorable Mention
Christian Garnett had one of the best seasons in Coral Glades history. The Senior scored a school-record 59 goals helping the Jaguars win seven games.
Deven Cathcart: Honorable Mention
Deven Cathcart finished second on the team in points. He scored 18 goals and had 25 assists.
Kyle Williamson: Honorable Mention
In 12 games this season, Kyle Williamson scored 14 goals and had 18 assists. He had a hat-trick in the team’s win over J.P. Taravella.
J.P. Taravella
Destiny Tizol: Honorable Mention
Sophomore Destiny Tizol led the Trojans with a .619 batting average which helped JPT win 12 games. She also led them with 27 RBIs.
Emma Prestano: Honorable Mention
Emma Prestano hit .585 and was recognized as an honorable mention. She also had five extra-base hits, including two triples.
Mya Barrios: Honorable Mention
Mya Barrios batted and was the final Trojan to hit over .500. She had 17 hits and scored 35 runs.
Pompano Beach High School
Juliana Hooker: Honorable Mention
Julianna Hooker, who resides in Coral Springs, hit .300 and drove in 12 runs. She also went 5-3 and pitched to an ERA of 1.80.
Mackenzie Jewell: Honorable Mention
Mackenzie Jewell also is a coral springs resident and went 2-1 with and struck out 27 hitters in 23.2 innings.
