The ball was flying Tuesday night for Coral Springs Charter after Stephanie Basso hit three of the team's five home runs in their win over Westminister Christian School.
Basso hit a grand slam, three-run home run, and solo homer to drive in eight runs, while Kate Maston and Heather Robertson also had one in the Panthers' 16-1 win.
"When Steph stays thru the hitting zone, She has as much power as anyone around. "I'm so happy for her. She's put in the work," said Head Coach Mark Montimurro.
Brianna Godfrey picked up the win and struck out six in three innings. Isabella Bertorelli also recorded an RBI while CSC picked up their 22 wins. They have now outscored their opponents in the playoffs 59-1.
Next, the Panthers will play the Somerset Academy in the Regional Final at home on Friday, May 20 at 6 p.m. The Stallions are 21-4 this year and after winning the District Tournament, they have beat Kings Academy and Sports Leadership In Management to reach the final of Regionals. This will be the first meeting of the season between these two teams.
