The Rotary Club of Coral Springs will welcome City Historian Cristina Fairhurst as its featured speaker during its meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 12.
The event begins at 6:30 p.m. at La Pizzeria, 5632 Sample Road in Margate.
Fairhurst, who serves as the City Historian for Coral Springs, is responsible for preserving and sharing the city’s history through programs, exhibits, presentations and community outreach. Her work combines historical research with storytelling designed to engage audiences of all ages.
According to the Rotary Club’s Board Member and Membership Chair, Sal Golfo, Fairhurst brings a background in communications, education and the arts to her role, helping residents connect with the city’s unique past and its evolution from farmland into one of Florida’s first master-planned communities.
A Coral Springs resident for more than 30 years, Fairhurst is passionate about highlighting the people, stories and vision that shaped the city while exploring how that history continues to influence its future.
The speaking engagement is part of the Rotary Club of Coral Springs’ ongoing series featuring local leaders and community experts. Residents interested in learning more about Coral Springs’ history are invited to attend.
