Eagle Ridge Elementary School Welcomes New Principal

Denise Hanson is the new principal of Eagle Ridge Elementary School.

One of her first goals is to get to know the school’s teachers, students, and parents. She comes from Park Springs Elementary School, where she served for 11 years, beginning as an assistant principal and later becoming the principal.

“This is a wonderful school with great teachers, students, and a supportive PTA,” said Hanson.

Eagle Ridge is an A school and has a school newspaper, a debate team, and a Leader-In-Me program that focuses on building student leadership skills.

Hanson believes it is important that educators focus on children and making learning fun. “Being a teacher is magical, and I love helping children learn. For me, being an educator is the best job in the world, and I always wanted to be a teacher,” said Hanson.

As a principal, Hanson believes it is important to support the staff and help them succeed.

“Eagle Ridge must be a place that children want to be. The classrooms are engaging, and I will work to make this a positive learning environment,” said Hanson.
